Frequently Asked Questions

What types of videos do you produce?

We produce a variety of videos, including corporate videos, promotional videos, explainer videos, animated videos, and social media videos. We also create videos for events and conferences, as well as training videos and product demos.

What is the process for creating a video?

Every project is different but generally our process typically involves 3 stages:

Pre-production: We learn about your business and what you need from your video. Together we develop ideas and concepts, create a video outline or script and storyboard, confirm budgets and plan any shoots.

Production: This is the filming bit. It can be general footage, event footage, interviews, on location, at your premises or in a studio.

Post-production, and delivery: We edit the video and may add music, sound effects, and voiceover. We can also create any necessary animations, titles or graphics. After your final approval we deliver the finished video to you in the formats of your choice.

How much does a video cost?

We know it’s annoying but there isn’t a definitive answer for this. The cost of a video depends on a variety of factors, including the length of the video, the complexity of the concept, filming needed, the amount of editing and/or graphics and animation required. We offer a range of video production services and are happy to tailor them to suit different budgets and needs. If you contact us for a chat, we can give you an idea of costs.

How long does it take to produce a video?

The timeline for producing a video varies depending on several factors, such as the complexity of the project and the amount of footage that needs to be captured, editing, graphics and animation required.

Generally speaking, most video projects take a few weeks from start to finish. However, if a project is simple and/or more urgent it can be quicker.

What is the difference between videography and video production?

Here’s one way of thinking about the difference: Videography is filming something that often already exists or is taking place for another purpose. A video production is where something needs producing or creating by the crew before it can be filmed. We do both but they do need a different approach.

What is your experience with creating videos in different industries?

Our team has experience working with a wide range of industries including finance, technology, healthcare, education, PR & marketing and more. We understand that different industries may have different needs and challenges, and we work closely with our clients to create videos that effectively communicate their message to their target audience.

What’s the difference between corporate videos and promotional videos?

Corporate videos are typically used to communicate a company’s brand and mission. They can be used to introduce a company to potential customers, investors, or employees. Promotional videos, on the other hand, are used to promote a product, service, or event. They often include a call-to-action.

What is an explainer video?

An explainer video is a short animated or live-action video that explains an idea or concept in a simple and engaging way. They’re often used to introduce a new product or service, or to educate customers about a particular topic.

What is an animated video?

An animated video is a video that uses animation to tell a story or convey a message. They can be used for a variety of purposes, including product demos, explainer videos, and social media videos. Animation styles include 2D and 3D animation and motion graphics.

What is a social media video?

A social media video is a short video that is designed to be shared on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, or X. They’re often used to promote a product, service, or event, or to showcase a company’s brand and culture.

What are the benefits of different animation software?

We use Cinema4D for our 3D animation and some of our 2D animation. Aftereffects is probably our most used software. Great for infographics. We do some cel animation in aftereffects or procreate dreams. Recently we’ve been doing some Rive animations - the little animations dotted around our website are made with Rive. Rive allows for very small file sizes and is great for interactivity on websites. We think Rive animations will really help make your website engaging.

What equipment do you use for filming?

We use professional-grade equipment for all our filming, including high-end cameras, lighting equipment, and sound equipment. We keep up to date and invest in the latest technology to ensure that our clients receive the highest quality video content possible.

How much input do we need to have?

You can pretty much have as much or as little involvement as you want. If you want to be hands on at every step, you can. If you want to brief us and then leave us to it, that’s fine too.

We have an existing video that needs updating. Can you help?

Yes we can. Our in-house editing platforms are compatible with most source materials you might provide and our editors and graphic artists can add commercial quality polish to your footage.

We need an event or interview filmed but don’t need any editing or post production. Can you help?

Of course. We can provide the full production service if needed, but we’re also happy to provide a particular service if that’s what you need. We can provide a single operator or 2-person crew or larger production crews all fully equipped. We have qualified crews throughout the UK and overseas.

Do you keep copies of projects?

We generally keep backup copies of any footage and project files for a minimum of 2 years. We’re happy to revisit and update older projects – for example if you have changed your branding or want to update facts and figures about your business. If there are concerns about data sensitivity we’re happy to delete all our copies of the media on completion of the project.
